Teridian Introduces World's First Single-Package DAA Modem Solution
Highly Cost-Competitive 73M1822 and 73M1922 Devices Join Legendary Modem Portfolio

Irvine, Calif., May 21, 2007- Teridian Semiconductor Corp. today announced the availability of the two newest members of its popular modem product portfolio, the 73M1822 and 73M1922 MicroDAA? chipsets. Both solutions incorporate direct access arrangement (DAA) technology for data/fax modem and voice applications, and provide the necessary functionality and protection required for worldwide homologation. These devices are ideal for applications such as high-speed voice band data modems, satellite set-top boxes, fax/multifunction peripherals (MFP), point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and other embedded modem applications.

As a pioneer in silicon DAA technology for more than 15 years, Teridian has introduced the first single package silicon DAA solution, 73M1822. The device uses an inexpensive common pulse transformer that forms a digital isolation barrier, transferring both power and data to the PSTN line side components. This technology is also available for extended isolation requirements as a chip set, 73M1922. The result is reliable performance in the presence of EMI and line voltage variations.

The Teridian family of modems provides one of the broadest selections of semiconductor products for today¡¦s set-top box, voice band data modems, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, fax and MFP, text telephony and other embedded telemetry applications. Teridian additionally offers extensive firmware libraries and reference designs to significantly shorten customer development and certification time.

Volume production for the 73M1822 and 73M1922 solutions are in June; pricing is available upon request.
